successful and joyful. In My Village is based on this principle.
It is a self-forming, self-replicating, decentralized network, which
serves the individual, and grows as the individual grows. Within
this framework, people end up serving and trusting one another in
the common pursuit of co-creating the life and world they each long
for.
In
My Village is a new, innovative social experiment that originated
in Ashland, Oregon in 2003. It emerged in part as a response
to the social insanity of our times, marked by separation, loneliness,
depression, and violence. It is designed as a blueprint for people
wanting to self-organize their own vibrant, highly creative, and
authentic communities in their local area. These communities are
not based upon any ideology or belief system other than the understanding
that we are all creative beings who long to feel our inherent connection
to both Life and each other, while fostering the freedom to follow
our heart’s direction.
In
My Village is a networking structure that allows people to
more deeply and effectively interact with one another. Through these
interactions, people develop the connections, trust and love with
each other that form the basis for a highly resonant and creative
community. There are many kinds of networking models, each with
different purposes: to further business interests, romantic interests,
hobbies, etc. The In My Village network exists to create
self-forming communities organized around personal passion and individual
creativity.
Each
network community contains up to approximately 150 people, a number
large enough to insure creative synergism and small enough to create
intimacy and personal connection. There can be any number of ‘Villages’
within a given local area, each with their own unique identity and
autonomy yet capable of interacting with other Villages. The In
My Village model is designed to be replicated and modified, making
the best modifications available to all other Villages.
